Brentford has a rich history and were at their peak during the 1930s, prior to World War Two.

The Bees climbed into the First Division, now known as the Premier League, for the first time in their history and ended their first campaign in the top flight as the leading London club.

It's a step back in time to an age where players bathed together, went on overseas tours by train and injured players were actually carried off over the trainer's shoulders.

Some things never change though, and the Bees fans celebrated promotion to the top flight in 1935 by invading the Griffin Park pitch.

Health and safety was less of a concern than it, rightly, is today and fans used to sit right next to the pitch, on occasions when a large crowd was in place.
