QPR number two Marc Bircham is looking to give the fans something to shout about in the new season, saying it's no less than they deserve.

Speaking to the club's official website, Bircham hailed the fans who stuck with the team during a tricky season last year, and is wanting the players to share that passion for the club.

He said: "The fans have been excellent. They know it's a transition for us, and that we've got the club's best interests at heart and want a squad of players who want to play for the club.

"That's the big objective for us. We want the players to show their passion in every minute of every game. There was only a couple of times last season that we were disappointed with the players' attitude, but we let them know so they know our standards and that's what they need to adhere to.

We've had that in games this year where it's been high tempo and the fans enjoyed coming to Loftus Road.

"Any fan can testify that if the side win or lose, they want to see the side fight until the last seconds of the game, and that's what we need to carry on next season.

"If we can do that, we can get a team that the fans are proud to call their team, and they'll look forward to coming to Loftus Road."
