Arsene Wenger has tapped into Petr Cech’s knowledge of Chelsea ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash but claims he is more worried about getting Arsenal’s own house in order.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich allowed the Czech Republic goalkeeper move across London this summer and he will make his first return to Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.

Having spent 11 years with the Premier League champions, Cech knows a thing or two about Jose Mourinho’s side and has been in discussions with the Gunners boss this week.

However, Arsenal manager Wenger knows he will need more than a little insider knowledge to take three points home to the Emirates.

Asked if Cech’s insight gives his team an edge, Wenger replied: “A little bit of extra yes but there is no big secret other than on the day perform your best and perform together.

“Our individual performance will be better than what he [Cech] knows. There is no big secret in that.

“We know our position at the end of the season will depend on how we do in the big games.

“I do not consider too much where Chelsea stand. I focus on us performing well tomorrow morning. I leave that to the specialists and take care of my own team and my own problems.”

There’s no love lost between the two managers ahead of this weekend.

Wenger secured his first victory over Mourinho in 14 attempts in the Community Shield last month and admits ending that jinx has lifted a weight off his team’s shoulders.

He added: “For me what is important is that Arsenal win the game and that it can sometimes be a mental block for the players or a team when they do not beat a team so on that front it was good to win the Community Shield, yes.

“What you expect from these games is high intensity, full commitment and you want to prepare for that and play with full focus.”
