Neal Ardley has vowed never to let down AFC Wimbledon fans down again after Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers.

David Clarkson and Tom Parkes scored first-half goals set the Pirates sailing to victory and a late red card to Sammy Moore and a Matt Harrold penalty made it a disastrous day for the Dons.

Wimbledon will have to wait to put things right though as they are without a game this weekend having exited the FA Cup at the first-round stage.

Boss Ardley wishes his team had the chance to get back to winning ways this Saturday, but has insisted it will be a very different performance when his side take on Mansfield on December 14.

Determined: AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley won't allow a repeat of the Rovers loss

He said: “I told the boys that two weeks on the back of a win is two good weeks, but a loss is a long two weeks and we've got a long two weeks now. We'll have to work hard to make sure we don't let the fans down like that again.

“We've had our two weeks planned for a long time, we plans months ahead, we'll stick the plan. I haven't thought that far ahead personally [as to what I will do next weekend]. I'll just focus on what I'll be doing with the players.”

Ardley publicly apologised to Wimbledon's travelling supporters in the wake of the 3-0 loss at Rovers on Saturday.
