THE CHISWICK & District Sunday League Premier title is within grasp for Chiswick Albion after they gained revenge on Chiswick Griffin on Sunday.

Last week, it was Griffin who were kings of the hill after beating Albion 3-1 to win the Riverside Challenge Trophy.

But Albion had the last laugh in emphatic style on Sunday with a 7-3 win which puts them four points clear of the only team who can catch them.

That side is Tommy Flynn's, who Albion face this weekend. Meanwhile, the defeat ended Griffin's slim title hopes.

Adam White opened the scoring on five minutes, chesting in Nicky Wozniak's cross before Griffin resulted up an equaliser.

White then turned provider with a corner which Dean Francis headed home, before his brother Liam scored from his own half after robbing Griffin keeper Simon Greening, who was caught on a outfield trip.

Griffin pulled another back through a Luke Brooks free-kick, before Adam White notched his second with another free-kick which nestled in the top corner.

Griffin's hopes were killed off soon after the break, first when Martin Salem scored Albion's fifth direct from a corner, then when playmaker Dwayne Rhone was forced off injured.

Francis bagged his second from an Adam White cross before Brian Flynn put the icing on the cake with a lob over Greening. * It was away wins all the way in Division One, where FC Zion won 3-1 at Ealing Commoners, The Rising Sun won 5-2 at Isleworth, Hanworth Villa Sunday Youth won 5-1 at Oisin Celtic and Chiswick Wanderers won 2-0 at West Ealing.
