Alan Judge is back in action for the first time in 18 months and he marked his return to action with a goal from the penalty spot at Barnet.

The Irishman was named in the starting line-up for Brentford B against Barnet U23s and it took him 10 minutes to make his mark as he converted from 12 yards. Overall, he completed 45 minutes in what was a positive return to action.

Judge has been out of action since April 2016 after a horror challenge from Luke Hyam in the opening minutes of Brentford's 3-1 win at Ipswich left him with a compound fracture in his leg.

He had made a bid to return to action at the end of last season but needed further surgery earlier this year to ensure he came back in the best possible condition.

Brentford B lineup: Thompson; Novak, Mepham, Sørensen, Chatzitheodoridis; Kirk, Clayton, Judge; Trialist, Forss, Archibald
