Lyle Taylor is loving life at his new-found home in AFC Wimbledon after labelling it incomparable to any of his previous clubs.

The 25-year-old has endured a stop-start beginning to life at Kingsmeadow following his move from Scunthorpe United in the summer.

But after scoring the in the 2-0 victory over Barnet at the weekend, Taylor reckons he is settled at his new club.

He said: “Better, that’s the only word. The players, the staff, the fans, everything.

“I’ve not been around a group of boys as good as this in my career. I’m only 25, I know that, but I’ve been around I’ve been in a fair few dressing rooms, and I’ve not come across a group of boys this good.

“As a club, we have absolutely nothing to complain about and we will work as hard as we possibly can to get this club up the league, and where we feel we should be.”

Manager Neal Ardley has complained about his side’s consistency in League Two, with the Dons moving up to 13th after Saturday’s 2-0 victory against Martin Allen’s Bees.

And although Taylor admits the side have to improve to string a run of results together, the forward says that there’s no place he’d rather be after a win.

“When the boys are all happy, it is a great place, honestly. I’ve enjoyed being here,” said Wimbledon's man of the match on Saturday.

“So if we can all play with a smile on our face, it’s different for some of them, I know Robbo likes his snarly, gritted face on, there’s a couple like that.

“But as long as we’re all playing well and we are a team then we’ll do fine.”
