Dannie Bulman is looking forward to renewing his partnership with Jake Reeves after signing a new deal at AFC Wimbledon.

The duo dovetailed perfectly in The Wombles’ promotion charge which culminated in last week’s playoff final success over Plymouth.

And now veteran Bulman has put pen to paper to extend his stay at Kingsmeadow, he is expecting more of the same from Former Brentford man Reeves, someone he considers a friend on and off the pitch.

“Jake’s a bloody great player and we try to complement each other,” he said

“I get on really well with him off the field where we like to let our hair down, but we work hard when we are in and it shows on the pitch.”

The on-field partnership was never better illustrated than in victory over the Pilgrims where Bulman, usually the sitting midfielder took on the role of hunting down possession to allow his younger teammate to show his more expressive side.

“Me and Jake switched now and again,” he added.

“I love pressing and he loves getting on the ball, so we switched up with me pressing their midfielders to allow him to dictate play. We tried to do that a few times and it worked on the counter-attack.”

Bulman joins skipper Barry Fuller, Adebayo Azeez and George Francomb in signing new deals in the wake of their Wembley triumph.
