AFC Wimbledon will meet an old foe this season as Luton Town return to the Football League after a five-year absence.

Neal Ardley's men make the short trip up the M1 for the second game of the campaign before John Still's side visit Kingsmeadow on February 21.

The Dons won promotion from the Conference at the Hatters' expense in 2011 after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out win in the play-off final.

The game at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium ended goalless after 120 minutes, but Wimbledon held their nerve to triumph 4-3 on spot-kicks.

Luton and Wimbledon have met on four previous occasions, with nothing to choose between the pair.

The sides drew 1-1 at Kingsmeadow on the opening day of the 2009/10 season before Wimbledon triumphed in the return fixture at Kenilworth Road the following February.

However, it was a different story in front of the live TV cameras in September 2010 when the Hatters inflicted a heavy 3-0 defeat on the Dons.

Wimbledon managed to shore up their defence by the time the teams met again as it ended in a stalemate the following January.
