Andy Barcham and James Shea are poised to return to AFC Wimbledon training next week.

Barcham damaged his medial ligament during the 5-2 loss to Morecambe on October 17 while goalkeeper Shea has also be missing for the same period with a groin problem.

Wimbledon have dipped into their squad to fill the void left by Barcham but were forced to make a loan swoop for Cardiff youngster Ben Wilson to cover the loss of the former Arsenal shot-stopper.

Manager Neal Ardley said: “We have had a good meeting about it and we are hoping that Andy and James will be back training full on with the first-team in the week of 7 December.

“That is the aim for them without any setbacks. We then have a couple of Under-21 games within the two weeks after that and a chance to get them back where they need to be going into a busy Christmas schedule.”

The Dons take a break from action this weekend having already been eliminated from this season’s FA Cup but will return to the field on December 12 at home to Stevenage.
