AFC Wimbledon came from behind twice to earn a well deserved first point of 2017.

Millwall led twice, but by 50 minutes all four goals had been struck in a topsy-turvy game where Lions old boy Lyle Taylor scored on his return from suspension, and Tom Elliott netted with a fabulous diving header.

Four Dons changes from the lack lustre defeat to Bristol Rovers on New Year's Eve gave the side added impetus to put things right on their own patch.

But their south London rivals struck first as early as the fifth minute.

Aiden O’Brien looked up and let fly with a fierce drive that cannoned in off the underside of the bar.

Goal: Lyle Taylor

This time Wimbledon refused to be daunted when Darius Charles. making his first League One start since October, rose highest on the end of a corner from Dean Parrett with Taylor where he needed to be to head home from close range.

Chances were exchanged at a steady rate after that, but Millwall's Steve Morison should have done better but headed wide.

Sadly for AFC he made no mistake with a sublime lob when the home defence nodded off to allow a through ball the visitors' top scorer to lob home five minutes before the break.

There was clearly an extra something in the half-time tea because Wimbledon drew level again six minutes after the restart.

Taylor turned provider with a terrific cross from the right, and it was Elliott playing Johnny on the spot this time with a diving header to herald a decent start to the year for the sell-out Kingsmeadow crowd.
