Relaxed Neal Ardley isn’t too concerned about losing Dannie Bulman for Saturday’s trip to Wycombe Wanderers because he has faith in the squad he has put together this season.

Bulman has started every League Two game for the Dons so far this season but has been ruled out of the clash at Adams Park as he serves a one-game suspension.

He picked up his fifth booking of the season in the 3-2 win over Bury and the midfielder’s absence will present an opportunity for another Wimbledon player to stake a claim.

Miss: Dons will miss Bulman for the first time in the league this term

Boss Ardley told Dons Player: “Whoever comes in will need to do a bit of everything; he will need to be a good defender, have the same sort of energy that Dannie brings to the team and obviously show their own qualities.

“I have to trust players in the squad and so far when I’ve given other players a chance they’ve proven themselves. Hopefully the player who comes in will give me a problem come Monday. It’s a big loss with Dannie being out, but it provides an opportunity for someone else to show that he can cope.

“I was actually thinking of how I could freshen Dannie up because he gets through so much work and he’s no ‘spring chicken’ any more. It gives us an opportunity to do this now. I don’t think we should change our approach. We’ve got our way of doing things and this is how we are trying to win games.”

Replacement: Jake Nicholson could fill in for Bulman

Meanwhile, Neal Ardley has paid tribute to Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth as he prepares to lock horns with his old pal.

Ardley and Ainsworth were both members of Wimbledon’s Crazy Gang back in their playing days but are now in charge of the League Two Dons and Wanderers respectively.
