Neal Ardley claims he'll always be his own man when it comes to management - whether it is labelled 'New Age' or not.

The AFC Wimbledon boss was recently tagged a 'New Age' manager by Wombles' striker Adebayo Akinfenwa because of his emphases on things such as training and recovery time and the latest technology.

Ardley isn't fussed either way by the label, but made clear he'll never be a disciple of any one philosophy on the game.

"I think I have an approach that is perhaps modern," he said.

"A lot of people teach and coach and manage how they were managed, I don’t.

"When I was being managed I looked at the good and the bad and wanted to be my own person.

Bayo Akinfenwa drops into Guinness World Records HQ in pictures:

"I focus on man management, getting the players to buy into what we are trying to do playing as a team and achieving that togetherness, so if that is considered 'New-age then so be it."

He does admit technology plays a big part in his methods and he is a big fans of gadget and gizmo's which he believes ensure he gets the best out of his Dons squad.

"You need to use technology to prevent injuries and focus on how much the lads are training, whether they are over-training or under-training," he added.

"We embrace it and put it as part of our training regime."
