AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley has rejected an approach from League One outfit Gillingham.

The Gills wanted to speak to the 42-year-old about the managerial vacancy at Priestfield following the sacking of Peter Taylor last month.

However, Ardley insists he's fully-committed to the Dons and is determined to take the club to the next level.

He said: "Gillingham have gone about it the right way - they asked the question to the club. I spoke to [chief executive] Eric Samuelson about it.

"We both decided we're on a project here. This is my club. It's not the right time for me to be leaving.

"I want to try and achieve something here, and hopefully long may that continue."
