AFC Wimbledon have the bonus of Adam Barratt and Callum Kennedy added to the squad against opening-day opponents Shrewsbury.

Dons snapped up former Gillingham and Southend defender Barratt as emergency cover for the injured Andy Frampton, while boss Neal Ardley has revisited old pastures by re-signing left-back Kennedy.

Dons released Kennedy in May, but promising pre-season displays after recovering from an ankle tendon injury was enough to reward the 24-year-old with a new contract.

AFC signed off pre-season with a convincing 3-0 win at Aldershot last Saturday, but chances are Barry Fuller will be restored to right back, Dannie Bulman in the centre of midfield, and Barratt likely to make his debut in the heart of defence alongside Alan Bennett or Mark Phillips.
