Here are AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley's key thoughts in the wake of today's 2-1 comeback win over Notts County.

The win

"It was more about character than quality. It was almost a classic away performance from Notts County and they were five minutes away from doing a really good job.

They went 1-0 up from a set piece and then shut up shop and it is hard in League Two and different from the Premier League where there is an intricacy around the box to pull people about, so we just had to keep going.

I thought we had several players who weren't brilliant today or at their best, but as a team the work rate and energy levels to keep on top of them was great. Akinfenwa will get the headlines for the winner, but we have won 2-1 as a team."

Winner: Adebayo Akinfenwa

Quality final ball from the flanks - eventually

"We felt their right-hand side centre-half was not the biggest and we were hoping George Francomb would put his trademark whip onto one or two crosses and Ade (Akinfenwa) and Tom (Elliott) would be coming onto them and have a chance to exploit that lack of height.

Too often in the first half, five or six times on the trot we hit the first man and the quality wasn't quite right.

So we had a game-plan and when we did get it right we got on the end of them."

Plan: Tom Elliott

Adebayo Azeez goes from zero to hero

"Ade has done great with the delivery for the second one and that is two minutes after he could have done better with one over the other side and people were therefore moaning and groaning at him and then he's gone and produced.

He has come back a different animal this year. He is assisting and scoring and He has a real hunger about him. He is pushing me hard to think about starting him."

Pivital: Adebayo Azeez (L)

Tougher defence?

"I look at the Mansfield, Yeovil and Exeter games and again today where teams are hardly creating anything against us.

The goals we are conceding are from set plays and we are working hard to eradicate that, but in open play teams are not creating much, so we are sound defensively and there is not very often now you think James Shea has kept us in a game."

Late goals again

"With the striking threat we've got the hope is sides are never going to feel safe against us.

Injury: Will Nightingale (R)

Will Nightingale's injury

"Will knows he has had a couple of injuries before, so that is the first worry.

Will knows what it feels like so senses he has done something. He is a brave lad too who will carry on running even with an injury, so the first thought is it is probably something serious.

We have a brilliant medical team, so by Tuesday we will have had the scan and got the results, so for now we will keep our fingers crossed."
