It’s almost that time of the year again as we hurtle towards the announcement of the Football League fixture lists.

Brentford, Fulham, QPR, AFC Wimbledon and Barnet fans can start planning their first away trips of the season after a long wait over the summer.

So get your diaries at the ready and start getting excited.

But when can you start jotting down the dates and analysing your club’s end-of-season run-in? Here’s everything you need to know.

The short answer

The fixtures for the 2015/16 Championship season will be revealed at 9am on Wednesday, June 17.

What happens next?

Each team plays one another and at the end of the season we see who's won the league, who else has joined them in promotion, the play-off contenders and the three relegated clubs.

But before then, broadcasters will have their say on which games they wish to move to different days and times over the weekend for TV coverage so don't bank on every game falling at 3pm on a Saturday just yet.

AFC Wimbledon’s League Two journey commenced at Kingsmeadow as they drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury. Barnet thrashed Chester 5-0 and went on to win the Conference.

So when does the season start?

The 2015/16 campaign gets underway on August 8, with the Premier League and Football League seasons kicking off at the same time.
