THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE DIVISION ONE:  Harefield 85-7 (20pts) beat Fleet 85 (3pts) by three wickets

HAREFIELD bounced back in fine style from defeat to leaders Beaconsfield when they held their nerve to see off Fleet in a low scoring clash.

Fleet came into the fixture in second place but at the end of the day they had swapped places with sixth-placed Harefield, who won an important toss and put their hosts into bat.

Strike pair Mluleki Nkala (3-26) and Fraser Wilson (1-13) were soon among the wickets as they reduced Fleet to 22 for four, before Tim Downes (30) and Matt Lee (25) put on 36 for the fifth wicket. However, once they were separated Harefield wrapped up the innings in a hurry as Nick Lines (2-9) and Akshay Reddy (2-4) made it four wickets for three runs as Fleet subsided to 83 all out.

If Harefield thought the job was done though, they were mistaken. James Hammerton (5), Kristian Johnstone (7), Barry Webb (9) and Dougie King (4) all went for single figure scores and the visitors were in a spot of bother at 29 for four.

Ollie Richards (10) and Ollie Wilson (14) stopped the immediate rot with a stand of 23 but when they and skipper Reddy went for the addition of only four more runs, Harefield were wobbling at 56 for seven with 28 still needed.

But Fraser Wilson decided enough was enough and he hoisted two sixes on his way to an unbeaten 19 off only 14 balls, seeing his side to a three-wicket win with Nkala (8 not out).
