Division One Harlington 163 (23pts) Drew With Woodley 118-8 (7pts),
LEADERS Harlington were indebted to a vital last wicket stand before they almost forced another victory at home to Woodley.
Final pair Jalil Rahman and Faisal Khan put on 41 together, helping Harlington to a respectable, if somewhat disappointing 163 given that they won the toss and elected to bat on a good wicket at the Imperial College.
That ultimately proved the difference between the sides as Harlington recovered from 122 for nine, in which Adil Malik stroked his way to another wonderful 49 including shots all over the park, having lost two early wickets. Malik's departure led to a mini-collapse in the face of good bowling before Rahman and Khan came to the rescue.
The Woodley chase had to contend with accurate pace bowling from Malik, who bagged another four wickets and Ali Bhatti.
Malik in particular troubled all the batsmen as he bowled unchanged for 15 overs while Amjad Raja chipped in with two wickets.
Woodley were never up with the chase because of quality bowling and fine fielding but they held on to claim a losing draw at 118 for eight.
