ANOTHER solid performance from Harrow saw them to 10 points at Barnes on Saturday which moves them up to third place in the County League Division Two table, just three points behind leaders North Middlesex.

Barnes batted first and lost their first wicket with the score on 20 but Hawk batted well, scoring 58, as the home side moved the score to 89 before a second wicket went down.

Barnes continued to score well and even when Ratcliffe was run out for 53 with the score on 170 for four in the 40th over, they looked capable of getting 250. But Harrow tightened their grip and the wickets started to fall.

Beale was given out for obstruction when he kicked the ball away trying to avoid being run out and, with the lower order failing to push the score on, Barnes were all out for 234.

Eranga Mendis picked up 2-31 from 11 overs and Gopi Navaratam also collected two wickets and two run outs.

It was still a challenging total and Harrow needed to bat well to collect 10 points but they made a great start as Aslam and Mendis put on 82 for the first wicket, with Aslam going for 36 and Mendis falling four short of a ton.

Karia carried on with a good 40 as the second wicket went down with the score on 174, but Harrow looked to be in control and, with Darren Crook making on 25 not out, the visitors reached their target for the loss of six wickets.

Harrow entertain second placed Shepherds Bush this Saturday, and this will be a stern test of the progress they have made over the last few weeks.
