BESSBOROUGH slumped to a comprehensive defeat at the hands of Enfield on Saturday leaving them rooted to the bottom of Division Three.

They looked to have got off to a good start putting the home side in to bat and limiting them to just 176.

But they failed to deal with Enfield's bowling attack as Steve Richards ripped through the side taking six wickets for just 29 runs.

Bessborough limped to a meagre 62 all out, handing Enfield an easy 10 points.

The second XI were unfortunate not to take the 10 points in their game against Enfield as it petered out to a draw.

Bessborough got off to a decent start and an unbeaten 78 from Carl Grayson helped the side reach 199 for 8 before declaring after 56 overs.

This gave the home side less time to bowl out Enfield however, and they fell just short of the win, with the visitors precariously standing on 114 for 8 when the overs ran out.

A winning draw was also secured by the thirds, who welcomed relegationthreatened Ickenham.

They were off to a promising start and Vinny Bhudia led the line with an unbeaten 101. However, little support from the rest of the side limited the home side to 182 all out.

Ickenham hit 121 for 5 in reply, earning Bessborough four points.
