TWO goals in as many second half minutes gave Hayes & Yeading United a welcome win over play-off rivals Maidenhead United at Church Road on Boxing Day.

Following a dire first half Josh Scott out-paced former skipper Nevin Saroya to get on to a Danny Allen-Page through ball and although he seemed to overrun it, Shane Gore fumbled and Scott fired home.

Allen-Page then crossed and Gary MacDonald headed his first goal for the club to seal the Blue Square South victory which United hope to repeat at York Road on New Year's Day.

A day later Staforde Palmer fired a hat-trick on his Northwood debut to start his month-long loan spell in style as the Woods triumphed 4-1 at Hillingdon Borough in Ryman One North.

John Christian got the other goal for Northwood after Boro's Sam Warrell had made it 1-1.

The borough's Southern League Division One South and West derby at Farm Park went the way of visitors Uxbridge after AFC Hayes had Gilbert Nuako sent off for violent conduct just before half-time.

Ross Ahir gave the hosts the lead but Johnny Dyer, Dave Lawrence and Lee Tunnell wrapped up a 3-1 win for Uxbridge.
