Lakmal Kasthuri fell just short of his century as Harrow St Mary’s had to settle for a losing draw at Brentham.

The Saints opener was stumped on 91 and it spelled the end of HSM’s attempts to chase down the hosts’ 253 target on Saturday.

Captain Tom Pettet won the toss and put Brenham in to bat and the move paid dividends when Curley Louw took a catch diving forward from square leg off opener Haran Dharmaraja to get dismiss Warwick Shanly.

Brentham’s top three were all out with the score on 32 before Luke Buddon and Matthew Lowen put on a partnership of 172 to help the home side reach a decent total.

Kasthuri and Sikander Randhawa led the Saints charge, however it was the loss of the former to leave the score on 187-5 that really saw things begin to unravel.

The shift focussed from taking maximum points to avoiding an outright defeat and Randhawa made 88 as he guided HSM home for a losing draw.

There were no points for Harrow in their Division Two match with Winchmore Hill though as they lost by six wickets despite posting 313-8.

Stanmore lost by eight wickets to Richmond in the Premier, MTSSC beat Kenton in a low-scoring Division Three game and it was a similar story as Wembley triumphed over Highgate but Harrow Town suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Barnes.

Bessborough made it three wins in a row on Saturday with a comfortable 109-run victory away to SKLP to consolidate their position at the top of Middlesex Championship Division One.

Ramesh Gunalan (34) and Ishan Shah (43) led from the front with a 50-run opening partnership, while half centuries from Ian Barrie (61) and Sherrick Chavda (51) did the damage as Boro won by 109 runs.

In Division Two, Pinner were made to pay for a sloppy performance with the bat as West Harrow claimed the derby bragging rights and a stunning 10-wicket win to boot.

Pinner were rolled for 76 in 35 overs, extras top scoring with 21, before their opponents chased that down for the loss of no wickets.

Lohana also clinched a superb 10-wicket win in their match with Peshwa and in Division Three, Pinner Challengers continued their climb up the table with a convincing 222-run victory over Old Isleworthians and Heston.

Meanwhile, captain Yogesh Nagpal hit the winning run off the final ball as Friends United scraped home by two wickets against Dharmaj in Middlesex Premier League Division Two.

Sixteen-year-old left arm spinner Dharmik Premji earlier took 3-24 on his competitive debut to help dismiss Dharmaj for 176.
