PARKFIELD and Headstone travelled to Datchworth for their Saracens Division Five game on Saturday, and held on for a draw against stronger opposition.

The home side declared on 204 for 3 in 50 overs, and in reply, Parkfield managed 174 for 9, with Robin Willis (41), Chetan Modi (32) and Ian Schmid (31) the major scorers.

The home wicket at Saddlers Mead was unfit for the second team to play, but the third team travelled to Sawbridgeworth V in Division 13.

Batting first, Parkfield made 171 for 4 in the allotted 47 overs, with James Ezzard (43), Vinay Taggar (38) and Tejas Voralia (37) making runs.

Both Kamal Mistry and Tejas Voralia took three wickets in reply, but despite taking nine wickets, poor fielding let them down and PHCC could only record a draw, with the Saws managing to hold on for 132 for 9.
