THE weather again defeated the Parkfield and Headstone first team on Saturday, but the seconds and thirds both completed their games in the Saracens Hertfordshire League.
Away to Division 9 rivals Potters Bar IV, the second team again failed to get 11 players on the pitch at the beginning of the innings, and suffered as a result.
Parkfield were invited to field first with eight men, which allowed the Potters Bar openers to pick their shots, but smart bowling by Craig Rivers (4-35 off 16 overs) and Tim Garnons-Williams (2-20 off nine) kept the score within reasonable limits.
Nainesh Shah chipped in with 2-36 off 16 overs, but Potters Bar finished on 166 for nine in their 53 overs.
Only Waseem Saber (36), Craig Rivers (22) and Tim Garnons-Williams (18) put up much resistance in the reply, and PHCC were bowled out for 127, losing by 39 runs.
PHCC 3rd string continued their good spell, beating top of the table Ickleford III by eight wickets.
Ickleford had won their previous three games, but could not come to terms with Patrick Foster (4-13 off 13 overs) and Kamal Mistry (3-15 off nine). Cheeseman, with 18, was the only visiting batsman to achieve double figures.
In reply, Tejas Voralia (31 not out) steered PHCC to victory for the loss of only two wickets.
