SURREY LEAGUE DIVISION ONE Selsdon....................162 all out Old Isle & Heston............164-4 (Old Isle & Heston won by six wickets)

A crashing six from Tony Parker sealed an excellent victory for Old Isleworth & Heston on Saturday.

Parker hit a match-winning 61 not out, and featured in a crucial partnership with debutant Richard Barron (57).

Earlier, they had lost two quick wickets before Daniel Hirst (29) steadied the innings.

On a wicket that showed no mercy to batsmen, Selsdon set a tricky target of 162.

Old Isle opening bowlers Trevor Hector (1-34) and Tristan O'Neill proved economical and provided a good platform for Parker (2-39) and Martin Aylett (3-43).

The only time the game threatened to get away from them was when Amit Orora set about the Old Isle bowling with four crunching sixes.

He finally skied a catch to O'Neill, however, and was out for 46.

**WYCOMBE House's frustrating start to the Middlesex League Division Three season continued on Saturday, when they made the trip to Hornsey, in North London only to find the pitch unfit for

" The square was all right, as it had been covered," said skipper James Rodham.

"But the bowlers' run-ups looked like a football pitch on a bad day."

After winning their first game Wycombe House have lost the last two, and are second from bottom of the fledgling table.

"It was really frustrating as we felt we had a chance of getting a win to kick-start our season."

**BEDFONT 62 began a wining weekend by outgunning old rivals Epsom Methodists on Saturday.

James Sutton (30) and Craig Elvin (14) gave them a good start, only for a middle-order collapse.

With Bedfont reeling at 68-8, skipper Mark Osbon (36 not out) was supported by stalwart Beard (eight not out) in an unbroken 49 run stand, to set a target of 117.

When Epsom replied, Sutton took 2-8 from six overs. But the real damage was done by Mark Beard, with 5-13 off 8.2 overs. Bedfont's catching was exemplary, with Harjit Notay claiming four, while a superb caught and bowled by Nick Beard.
