MIDDLESEX CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO

Pinner 93 all out

Glaxo 94-1

Glaxo won by nine wickets

PINNER picked up their first win of the season last week, but it could be another long wait for the second based on Saturday’s disastrous defeat to Glaxo.

The 11-week wait for a victory was ended against Swamibapa in considerable style, but normal service was resumed this week as Glaxo cruised to a nine-wicket win.

Buoyed from their maiden win of the campaign, Pinner lost the toss and were asked to bat first against their mid-table opponents.

It was slow, painful stuff from the division’s bottom club as they crawled to 40-3 off 25 overs and it did not get much better than that as they were steamrolled for 93.

Only Raj Pandian (52) made double figures with a decent half-century.

The 93 target was never going to prove a problem for Glaxo and they set about their business with real purpose. It was all over after 17 overs as Pinner’s ninth loss of the campaign was confirmed with just one wicket down for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Pinner’s seconds showcased their skills before poor weather brought an early end to their feisty home match against Tamil United.

Pallav Khirdwadkar made 54 and the lower order was held together by Leroy Rogers’ unbeaten 49 as Pinner finished 245-8.

In reply, Tamil were soon in trouble as Laurence Schreiber and 13-year-old Simran Walia took two wickets each to leave United at 23-4.

Tamil fought back and reached 201-4 off 37.2 overs when the rain came down to stop play.

Dan Foskett top scored with 77 as Pinner Sundays, who included four Colts in their squad, were beaten by eight wickets by a devastating Woodlands outfit.
