It's not often that taking 4-15 will fail to earn you the bowling headlines, but Bedfont 62's Nick Beard had that hard luck tale on Saturday.
His impressive haul against Staines & Laleham IVs was trumped by Mitchell Osbon taking his first hat-trick for the club on his way to 5-31.
The pair's combined efforts saw Bedfont bowl out Staines for just 106 and win by 91 runs, having earlier posted 197-7.
Peter Fitzpatrick (49) and Andy Caine (60) set the tone for victory with an opening stand of 124. The following day, James Sutton finally found his batting boots with a superb 83 as Bedfont drew with Lyne.
Jamie Read continued his recent run of form with 28, while Peter Fitzpatrick was unbeaten on 27 and Mark Osbon hit 26 as Bedfont reached 204-7. And when Steve Gould's 5-33 left Lyne's reply reeling at 84-6, Bedfont scented victory, until a rearguard action salvaged a draw for Lyne as they reached 146-8.
But Bedfont did have the consolation of some superbly-taken catches, not least Harry Sathanadan's absolute beauty at gully.
