Sam Robson will definitely make his England test debut tomorrow after being confirmed as a starter against Sri Lanka at Lord's.

The Australian-born bastman qualifies for his adopted country as he has been playing for Middlesex since 2008.

Robson, who will take his place alongside skipper Alistair Cook as opener, has been in good form for Middlesex this season, with two centuries and three half centuries to his name.

The 24 year old has already featured against Sri Lanka once this year, playing for England Lions against their A side in Columbo in February, where he recovered from a first innings duck to smash an unbeaten 147 in the second.

He scored nearly 1,200 County Championship runs last year, at an average of 47, and hit five centuries in all for the Lions in their winter tours of Australia and Sri Lanka.

Middlesex teammate Dawid Malan had previously backed Robson to get the call up and said he would be a hit for the national side.
