Division One: Harlington 173 (33pts) Beat Stratfield Turgis 46 (5pts) By 127 Runs

IN-FORM Adil Malik again weighed in with both bat and ball as Harlington thrashed Stratfield Turgis by 127 runs to move to within two points of lead-ers Sulhamstead and Ufton.

Harlington reluctantly elected to bat on a damp wicket, likely to favour swing bowling, because three players arrived late and they made a disastrous start by losing two wickets before the score reached 10.

However, a good partnership between Amjad Raja (54) and Waseem Khan steadied the innings, Raja playing some glorious strokes in his half-century, before a quick fire 39 from Malik helped Harlington reach a respectable 173 all out with the aid of five dropped catches by the hosts.

Stratfield were never in the hunt in the face of fine fast bowling from Ali Bhatti (1-15) and Malik, who produced some magnificent deliveries on the way to claiming six for 11.

First change Faisal Khan (3-5) then polished off the home side for 46 with more fierce fast bowling.
