Middlesex County Cricket League Division Two

Indian Gymkhana 237-9 dec

Eastcote 110 all out

Gymkhana won by 127 runs

Super Sumit Khullar fired Indian Gymkhana back to the top of the Division Two table with a ruthless display of bowling on Saturday.

With Gymkhana having set their opponents a target of 238 for victory, they soon set about the Eastcote top order and left them reeling at 6-3, Khullar removing two of the top three for a two and a duck.

A slight Eastcote recovery followed, but it was only ever going to a temporary one as Khullar claimed two more victims to return figures of 4-18 from 11 overs, while overseas star Punnet Mehra chipped in with 3-26 from 9.2.

Mehra had earlier been the mainstay of the Gymkhana innings, hitting 11 boundaries on his way to a sublime 76, while fellow middle order man Rana Khan contributed a useful 43.

Over in the Thames Valley Cricket League, Mrunel Swawnt hit a half century (51) as British Airways (223-6) got the best of a draw with Cookham Dene (217-8) in Division 2a, while in 2b, Chiswick & Latymer (175ao) lost by 60 runs to Thatcham Town (235ao), despite another fine all-round performance from Vikas Tokas (66 and 6-82).
