DIVISION ONE: Harefield 92-0 (20pts) beat North Maidenhead 91 (0pts) by 10 wickets

Akshay Reddy capitalised on a fine all-round bowling display by smashing a whirlwind half-century to lead Harefield to a crushing victory over North Maidenhead.

The Hares skipper wasted no time in wrapping up a comprehensive 10-wicket win by promoting himself up the order and then smashing 67 not out from just 42 balls as he and veteran Richard McLeod (23 not out) underlined a fine effort with the ball.

North Maidenhead finished runner-up last season but they had no answer to Harefield's five-man attack who all got among the wickets.

Zimbabwean Mluleki Nkala (1-27) and Fraser Wilson (2-19) did the early damage to reduce the visitors to 20 for three as Ricky Martin (9), David Shaw (1) and Shazad Asgher (0) all went cheaply, before Maidenhead staged something of a recovery.

South African Charl Pietersen, who played for Northants last year, put on 32 with Faisal Yasin (14) until the latter was brilliantly run out by Ollie Richards and teenager John Smith (1-17) had Pietersen caught behind for 28.

Reddy then brought himself on and soon picked up three for 11 as he and Nick Lines (2-5) raced through the lower order, claiming the final five wickets for just 16 runs.

Reddy then ensured there were no mistakes as he hit 13 fours and a six, smashing Pietersen (0-41 from six overs) and the rest of the bowling around the park to secure victory in only the 12th over.

The win kept Harefield in second place, still 22 points behind Beacons-field ahead of Saturday's trip to Tring Park II.
