Openers Peter Fitzpatrick (52) and James Sutton (51) both hit half-centuries as Bedfont 62 started well against Fulham Taverners on Sunday.

Harjit Notay also contributed 39 as Bedfont racked up 189-7 at tea, having surprisingly being asked to bat first on a sweltering day. However, the visitors plundered runs at will too on a flat track and lightening outfield, but fell short in the run chase at 184-6.

Brothers James (2-20) and Andrew Sutton (2-42) ensured a draw from the free-scoring encounter.

It was a good recovery from the previous day's thrashing by Thorpe, following an abject batting collapse.

Things looked good for Bedfont in attack as they bowled out their visitors for 168, with Paul Edwards taking 3-34, Cory Pascoe 3-37 and Nick Beard 2-30.

But only Mark Osbon provided any resistance in reply with 23 as Bedfont were all out for 107, with 'extras' top-scoring on 46.
