Neil Dexter has signed a contract extension at Middlesex CCC which will see him stay at Lord's until at least the end of next season.

Since joining Middlesex from Kent in 2009, Dexter, 30, has played more than 215 games for the club, scoring over 6,600 runs and taking 137 wickets.

The all-rounder captained at the club between 2010 and 2013, leading the team to the LV= County Championship Division Two title in 2011.

Middlesex managing director of cricket, Angus Fraser, said: " I am delighted Neil has chosen to extend his contract with us. He is a fine player and a top man. Neil is the sort of cricketer every club wants on their staff.

"He plays and contributes in all three forms of the game. He has many good years of cricket left in him and I hope those are spent at Middlesex."

Middlesex are currently playing Durham at Lord's in a game which both sides need to win to cast away any lingering fears of relegation from Division One.
