Derby destroyer Marco Djuricin has dedicated his winner against QPR last night to the Brentford fans.

The Austrian striker finished an Alan Judge cross from close range to bag his fourth goal in 10 games since joining the Bees on loan from Red Bull Salzburg in August.

His strike earned Brentford their first win over QPR in 50 years, and lifted them above their west London rivals in the Championship table to boot.

He said: “It was an unbelievable feeling to get that goal, it was the best I have scored. That was for the fans – they have been brilliant to me since I got here, and they created an amazing atmosphere tonight.

“I have played in derbies before in Salzburg, but they are not real derbies – nothing like this, and not as many fans. It was a tough game and we had some luck, but we won the derby, and that's four wins in a row.

“It was a great ball from Judgey. I looked in his eyes and he saw me, so I knew he would find me. As a striker, you have days when you just know you are going to score, and today I had that feeling.

“That's four goals and three assists for Judgey now in the last three games. He has been out of this world, and we hope he is not badly injured. He was feeling a little bit of pain in his hamstrings.”
