Brentford's Alan Judge has been included in the Republic of Ireland’s provisional 33-man squad for their internationals against England and Scotland in June.
This is the first time the 26-year-old Dublin born midfielder has been called up to the Ireland squad having made four appearances for the under-23 side.
Manager Martin O’Neill will trim the group before the side meets up on June 1 ahead of a friendly against England at the Aviva on June 7 and a UEFA Euro 2016 Group D qualifier against Scotland on June 13.
The call-up will come as a surprise to the Bees midfielder who recently played down talk of being selected for the Ireland squad.
"I'll have to wait and see if that happens," he said prior to Brentford's game with Reading in April on a potential call-up.
"I know the manager has a set squad at the minute so I'll be planning my holidays in the summer."
