Ealing Council and be are pleased to announce that drop-in public consultation events on the proposals to refurbish Gurnell Leisure Centre will be held on October 30 and 31.

The plans would deliver a brand new, modern, energy efficient flagship leisure facility made possible by enabling housing development on site.

The state-of- the-art facilities would include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a new fitness gym and skate park for use of the local community.

Housing on Ruislip Road East, to be delivered by be, would leave a legacy for the area by bringing high quality homes to Ealing.

Overall, the redevelopment would establish a welcoming community and a place for all generations.

The latest consultation events will take place at the existing Gurnell Leisure Centre on October 30 4-9pm and October 6.30am-2pm. Refreshments will be provided, alongside the opportunity to review the proposals. Ealing Council and be would be delighted if you would attend and share your view.

Cllr Bassam Mahfouz, Cabinet Member for Transport, Environment and Leisure at Ealing Council, said: “We are really looking forward to holding this public consultation event. The proposals would deliver a much-needed new centre and homes to Ealing. We are taking time to consult the local community before submitting our proposals, and we look forward to engaging with residents further”.

Paul Boulter, director of development management at be, said: “be are excited by the plans for the new homes for Ruislip Road East. We look forward to hearing the views of the local community and reflecting feedback in our designs”.

If you are unable to attend the event, materials from the consultation will be available from www.futureofgurnell.co.uk alongside an opportunity to comment online.
