Two youths arrested over a stabbing in Hounslow have been released with no further action.

A 52-year-old man was stabbed on the Ivybridge estate, in Isleworth , on April 1.

Two male youths, aged 16 and 17, were arrested in connection with the stabbing, which took place near the shopping parade including Asda shortly before 7pm.

They returned for questioning on bail earlier this month, and police said they had been released with no further action.

A police spokesman said: "The report is currently being closed pending further investigative opportunities coming to light."

The stabbing took place just over a week before Sahil Roy was stabbed to death on the same estate.

Police said the victim was taken to hospital with slashing wounds but his injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.

Police recently promised to step up the use of stop and search powers following a spate of stabbings in the borough.

Azeem Issa, 28, of Haweswater House, Isleworth, has been charged with Mr Roy's murder and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on July 1.
