An England netball star is set to visit Hounslow in a bid to infuse young people with a passion for the sport.

Lindsay Keable will join young people for a coaching session at the court by the Alf Chandler Centre, in Benson Close, Hounslow, on Saturday, June 4, from 4.30pm-5.30pm.

She will meet youngsters taking part in a Sportivate netball project, run by Riana Development Network with support from London Sport.

Sportivate is a National Lottery-funded Olympic and Paralympic legacy initiative which gives 11 to 25-year-olds who aren't particularly sporty six to eight weeks of coaching in a new sport and then helps them find low costs ways to continue to play.

The project in Hounslow began on May 7 and the organisers hope it will continue to run, with the help of volunteers, once the eight weeks are up.

Lindsay, who has represented her country in a number of test series, has already dropped in on participants on Saturday, May 28, in her role as a Sport England Sporting Champion.

She said: "Sportivate is a fantastic way of getting young people into sport and that is something I am really passionate about.

"I believe that as a Sport England Sporting Champion, I can inspire everyone in attendance to raise their aspirations of what they can achieve and motivate them to be the very best versions of themselves that they can be."

If you are aged 11-25 and want to get involved in the Sportivate netball project, email Rodgers Orero at rodgers.orero@riana.org.uk or simply turn up on the day.
