London rent...groan!

Yes, the end of the month is fast approaching, as is rent payment day , and with the prices of rent in London, there is never enough money leftover to enjoy for ourselves.

But what if you could make it to pay day and there was no rent to pay?

A dream, right? Wrong!

For one lucky person, a rent free year will be a reality, and not just in any home, in a luxury apartment on one of Britain's most expensive streets.

Can you see yourself relaxing here after a busy day?

Yes, a young professional is wanted to live in a multi-million pound apartment in one of London's most expensive areas, Kensington and Chelsea , rent free for one year.

TV presenter Amanda Lamb is hosting a competition to mark the opening of Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks' new flagship London store, Studio B.

Amanda Lamb said: “This is going to be a really special event.

"I’d love the chance to live in the Studio B flat and am delighted to play my part in making this dream come true for someone during the competition."

Studio B opens on April 27, it is an innovation lab where customers and students will be invited to get support and advice on financial information.

The kitchen is fully fitted and open plan

Studio B marketing director Helen Page said: "Our research lays bare the huge challenge people starting out on their own face and this competition will give a lucky winner a huge helping hand, putting them on track to own their own home."

A place in the capital is something most people only dream of, as Zoopla figures reveal saving for a home in London could take almost 59 years.

And not only will the successful applicant be living rent free for a year, Studio B will also hand them £2,000 for savings each month during the year, to help them onto the property ladder.

The flat is located on Kensington High Street

Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks will also match the amount the winner saves up in that year up to £24,000.

So, you could have £48,000 in total at the end of the year, if you save £24,000.

What is the apartment like?

Just a five minutes' walk from High Street Kensington Tube station and the new Studio B branch, the modern luxury apartment features a reception room, double bedroom with built in wardrobes, family bathroom, fully fitted open plan kitchen, and a separate utility room.

The apartment boasts views across Kensington

The flat is situated on the top floor of a period building, offering fantastic views over Kensington.

Sounds too good to be true, how can I apply?

All you need to do is turn up at the new Studio B store in Kensington High Street at 7am on April 27.

This could be your new front door

Anyone above the age of 18 can take part, but there will be a limit on how many people are allowed through the doors on the day, so you may want to set your alarm extremely early.

For the test, you will be taking part in general knowledge and cooking rounds, gardening and DIY challenges in front of the judges.

So if you are thinking of giving it a go, you better scratch up on your skills before next week!
