A 20-year-old man was stabbed in the face in a cowardly attack by a group of men.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which took place on Sunday May 10 at around 1.30am as the victim was walking along Beardsley Way, Acton.

The man was approached from behind by a number of unknown men and was stabbed in the face.

The victim's phone fell to the floor and the suspects took it before running off in an unknown direction, police said.

London Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to a west London hospital where he received stitches for a small puncture wound to his cheek.

The Metropolitan Police say no arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

A spokeswoman said: "Anyone with any information is asked to call Ealing CID on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
