A young musician from Hanwell has teamed up with hit-makers behind songs by the likes of Madonna.

Jeniequa Quamina, also known as Eldé, is in New York to write and record a single with the renowned production company Skyelab Music.

The 20-year-old singer-songwriter said she felt "honoured" to collaborate with the firm, which has also worked with stars including Alicia Keys and Missy Elliott, to name just a few.

"It's brilliant to step into a place where such big artists have performed," she told getwestlondon .

"I'm honoured that they liked what they heard and wanted to work with me.

"I'm just being as humble as I can. I want to get the work done and hopefully that will lead to me being signed."

The new single has yet to be written and therefore has no title, but she said it would be released on iTunes in the next few months.

The opportunity marks the latest step on the path to stardom for Jeniequa, who studied music production at West Thames College , in Isleworth .

In 2014, she reached the regional finals of the Open Mic UK talent competition.

She also made it to the grand final of Teenstar UK, accompanied by fellow West Thames College old girl Arkell Whyte on guitar, and finished third out of 9,000 entrants.

Jeniequa, who attended Barbara Speake Stage School in Acton , went on to launch her own music movement , Da Upcomin, to provide a platform for unsigned artists.

The first two events sold out and the third is due to take place on the Battersea Barge on October 27.

Its success caught the attention of the online radio station Pulse88, and she was given her own show every Monday from 1pm-3pm.

She has just released her first EP, titled Real, which she recorded with Chris Burrell (aka StuttZ), another former West Thames College student, at MDC Studio.

As if that were not enough, she is also trying to make her mark in the fashion world, having designed her own clothing line, Doll Domination.
