A young child has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Hayes .

The boy, who was riding a bike in Springfield Road, was hit by the vehicle just before 4pm on Thursday (October 12).

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "We were called by London Ambulance Service at around 3.45pm, to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

Hillingdon Borough Police tweeted these photos from the scene of the incident

"The pedestrian was a child - a boy - who suffered a leg injury which was non-life threatening and non-life changing.

"He was taken to West London Hospital."

The road was reopened at around 5pm

The spokesperson added that a female - who appeared to be the driver - was suffering with neck pain and was treated at the scene.

The road was reopened following the collision at around 5pm.
