West London is home to some of the nosiest and rowdiest parties in the capital, new figures show.

Despairing residents in Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham and are among those most likely to make a complaint about partying neighbours.

It follows a Freedom of Information request made to all London boroughs which asked: “How many noise complaints in 2016 were related to partying and loud music?”

The answers revealed an average 144 complaints made daily in the city.

The list sees Kensington and Chelsea come third with a total of 4,635 complaints made last year.

Hammersmith and Fulham are fifth in the table with 3,257, and also making the top 10 is Hillingdon, which comes seventh on 2,576.

Top of the pile is Newham, which received a whopping 5.935 complaints - which accounts for 16% of the total complaints for all of London.

In second place was Haringey, where there was a total of 5,515 complaints made about raucous parties, averaging out at 15 complaints a day.

On the lower end of the scale, Harrow recorded just 240 complaints.

The figures were compiled by sellhousefast.uk , following a 2015 survey which revealed 70% of the people asked would withdraw an offer on a house if it had noisy neighbours.

'Having loud music until almost 2am is a bit much'

Eugenie Chua, 35, lives in Hammersmith and Fulham and spoke of her issues with a downstairs neighbour.

She said: “I live in a Victorian conversion maisonette, we have the upstairs unit.

"The walls are quite thin and you can clearly hear the music and even make out some of their conversation.

"It’s fine most of the time, but having loud music until almost 2am is a bit much.

“It hasn’t happened frequently enough to escalate the matter to the police or our local council, its mostly just an annoyance.

“I haven’t thought of moving, but did entertain the idea of putting a passive aggressive note on their door.”

Sellhousefast spokesman Robby Du Toit has seen first-hand the detrimental effects of noisy neighbours.

He said: “We have dealt with homeowners that have come to us as they are desperate to be rid of their noisy neighbours, many of them are families with babies that are woken up by constant partying.

“We have seen that the situation worsens in cities and towns that have a large student population like London.”
