Pictures show police cordons in place after an attack on an elderly lady last night (Thursday April 27).

A 90-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with stab wounds to her neck after being attacked with a hammer at around 8pm at Lilac Place, Yiewsley

Police remain at the scene and have set up a forensics tent within the cordon.

Lilac Place, a circular road with a series of alleyways, has been mostly cordoned off and locals wishing to get in to their houses must provide police with their names and addresses in order to gain access.

Police were called to the West Drayton address by London Ambulance Service at around 8.20pm on April 27.

Hillingdon CID are investigating the attack and are keeping an open mind regarding any motive for the attack.

This morning police said the victim's condition is "still described as life-threatening".

No arrests have been made yet and police are continuing with their enquiries.
