The most talked about contestant on X Factor , Honey G, has made it through to the next live show.

Real name Anna Gilford, who is from Harrow , is reeling in excitement following last night's results which saw her victory celebration fall flat.

However, the rising rapper, who hit the headlines once again, says it was a change in outfit from dress rehearsals to the live show which led to the embarrassing failed knee slide.

“What happened was in the dress rehearsal I tried the move and had a different outfit on and then had leather trousers on and it (knee slide) didn't agree with the surface unfortunately," she said speaking to getwestlondon.

“I tried to style it out as best as I could.”

Despite the mishap, she received a standing ovation from the audience and a thrilled judges panel following her performance.

It included comments such as “best performance” from Louis Walsh, while Simon Cowell said: “There are so many people getting their knickers in a twist over you, but you know what? Music can be fun and you're fun. "And backstage you are one of the nicest contestants.”

However, mixed reactions on Twitter continued this week to which Honey G told getwestlondon people need to “quit hating.”

The 35-year-old star also slammed the likes of Lily Allen and Professor Green who have had a dig at her music and her stance as a rap artist.

“My mum is a pianist and I've followed in her footsteps, her music is classical and mine in rap," she said.

“I come from a musical background. People haven't done their homework on me.

“Lily Allen said she finds it offensive but she needs to get her facts right.

“Professor Green said I'm taking the mickey out of rap music.

“But then Snoop Dog has talked about doing a record with me and 50 Cent has backed me .”

During the show a, pre-performance clip showed Honey G's visit to a primary school to mentor schoolchildren.

She said: “I have been told I am not going to make it and could never win.

"But I have beaten thousands to get to where I am.

“People who have said I am not going to be able to follow my dreams, these people need their head checked as I am through to the sixth show of X Factor.

“Anyone who is saying I am a joke don't know I have a 2:1 degree in music technology and production.”

"When I entered the competition I didn't think I would get this far"

Putting all the negativity aside and focusing on how far she has come, she told getwestlondon ahead of more rehearsals: "When I entered the competition I didn't think I would get this far.

"Since the competition my confidence has boosted quite a lot and I am now determined to make it to the final.

"I'm overwhelmed and humbled"

"I am having the time of my life and don't want it to end. I have my heart set on a record deal with SICO, a hit single, tours and more.

"It's all come as quite a big shock, I'm overwhelmed and humbled."

Looking forward to next week she added: “It's a big hit and the track is a classic and is going to be really big.”
