A woman rescued from a fire in a garage on Bowrons Avenue in Wembley during the early hours of Thursday morning (January 14) has sadly died in hospital.

Firefighters rescued the woman from the fire in a garage at the back of her house in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The woman, who was unconscious, was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital where she later died on Thursday evening.

Part of the single storey garage was damaged by the fire.

London Fire Brigade was called at 12.53am and the fire was under control at 2.22am.

Two fire engines from Wembley fire station attended the incident.

London Fire Brigade believe the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
