A Pinner woman is due to take on a charity challenge in memory of her mother.

Sutha Mohanadas will be taking on the London 2 Brighton Challenge in aid of St Luke’s Hospice on May 23.

She will be walking 100km, from the capital to the seaside town, in 24 hours, in memory of her mum Indra, who was looked after by the hospice last year.

"I wanted to raise money on behalf of St Luke’s by doing something which would challenge me and thought that walking 100km in just 24 hours would be that suitable something," she said. "The hospice was incredible in looking after my mum during her time here.

"Whilst these were the toughest few weeks we had to face as a family, their friendly nature, genuine care and commitment in looking after my mum is something I will never forget, and will forever be indebted to them for.

"I asked my mum before she passed away to give me some advice that I could keep with me. She said that I had to do a service to help people wherever I could.

"Mum also wished that she could have done more to help those in need. So in honour of my beautiful, sweet and kind mum (aka Amma), I hope that the money I raise, will continue to support St Luke’s in delivering their care, to all those who rely on their wonderful services."
