A woman was seriously sexually assaulted after being approached by a man in a park in South Ruislip, police have said.

The victim told officers she was sat on a park bench in Bourne Park, Great Central Avenue at 9pm on Tuesday (February 7) when she was approached by a man she did not know.

When she got up to leave the man grabbed her from behind and seriously sexually assaulted her, according to the Metropolitan Police which has launched an investigation.

The attack happened in the park near Bourne Primary School.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at around 11.15pm on Tuesday to a report of a serious sexual assault in Bourne Park.

“The female victim told officers she was approached by an unknown man whilst she sat on a park bench at approximately 9pm.

“When the victim got up to leave, the man grabbed her from behind sexually assaulted her.”

There have been no arrests in this investigation and police said enquiries are ongoing.

The suspect is described as an Asian man in his late 20s or early 30s, around 5ft 8in and of a medium build, with a goatee-style beard.

He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top, a maroon-coloured check shirt and dark-coloured trousers.
