An 82-year-old woman has died after a collision with a lorry in Kensal Rise.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene at the junction of Bannister Road and Chamberlayne Road on Thursday (July 23).

Police were called at 10.28am by London Ambulance Service to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry.

Upon police arrival, the 82-year-old woman was being treated by the air ambulance unit who were also called.

But the pedestrian was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at 10.54am, police confirmed.

According to a Met Police statement it is believed the woman had got off a bus and was crossing the road when she was in collision with the lorry as it travelled in the direction of Kensal Rise.

The lorry stopped at the scene with the driver questioned by officers.

Met Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made.

Road closures were in place on Chamberlayne Road from Harvist Road to Kilburn Lane but have since reopened.
